Dear Broadway fans…

Are there any dancers/swings/principals that you love who are currently working in a Broadway show? I’m trying to find a show/artist to reach out to for my latest “What Dancers Want” piece for Dance Retailer News. I’ve been lucky enough to speak with Luis Salgado, Leslie McDonel, and Stephanie Klemons, among others, for previous pieces, but I’d love to hear from other Broadway fans about their faves. My first thought was one of the fabulous ladies from How to Succeed. Does anyone else have another suggestion?

Where’s this disparity coming from, and why can’t we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that?’ We’re terrified of facing ourselves.”

Quick thoughts on the Daniel Radcliffe thing at the 92nd St. Y…

Thoughtful. Charming. Articulate. Intelligent. Honest. Geeky. Hilarious.

I was so tired when I arrived home from work, but I’m very glad I decided to go back into the city to this event. I really enjoyed myself and I loved hearing all of his thoughts on life, theater, and his career.

I took notes, as one does, and there are so many things to write about. One of my favorite moments is when he started talking about poetry (poetry and short stories are his preferred literary forms) and he said that poetry has to be “musical, clever, and precise” and that “the construction is like solving a puzzle.” I thought that was beautiful.

The final quote of the night: “That’s what’s good about the future—it’s coming.”

Baked some cookies for our Spring Fair. Going to hang out with the kiddies for a while and then I’m heading down to The Public Theater for iHomo. Can’t wait to be in the presence of The Esper again. Woot!
