This is my fifth tattoo and it was done by Tony at Greg’s Tattooing in Wheeling, West Virginia. It’s a quote from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (S05E22), a show that has inspired me since I was a kid and helped me through the good and bad times in my life. Buffy said this to her sister before she saved the world and died, in the hopes that her sister would be able to keep living even through her death just months after their mother died. It’s a reminder to always be strong, to always live, even when it feels like the world is ending.
I can’t tell you how many times I thought of this scene when my grandma died, because it is stupid. It is really fucking stupid and human and awful. It’s crazy how someone can be here one second and be gone the next. And they will never exist again. My grandma will never smile at me or laugh at me or scold me ever again. She’ll never pet my hair or fix the hem on my dresses or see me get married. And as much as I love that she was here once and that a part of her does live on in me and my memories of her, I hate that she’s gone and that she isn’t coming back.
Everything about this scene (the dialogue, Emma’s acting) is painful and so utterly true. Thank you, Joss Whedon.

I finally watched Captain America over the weekend and Steve Rogers is just so damn likable, as is Chris Evans. How did this happen? Chris Evans was the main reason I didn’t want to watch the darn movie and then…he suddenly became my favorite. Steve’s just so good, right? He’s in it for his country. He wants to help people. He wants to save lives. He’s just perfect and mostly, I feel like I will watch the Avengers movie and coo over how adorable his interactions are with everyone else. Like…he’ll meet Loki and wonder why he’s so evil. Rather than harm him, he’d probably just want to sit down and talk. And when he meets Tony, he’ll think of Howard and maybe try to share some awesome stories. And then he’ll talk to Thor about hair products and he’ll nod and smile whenever Thor does something really stupid, because Thor is very pretty and very stupid. And then other things will happen, I’m sure. Joss will kill some folks. There will be lots of funny one-liners. But mostly, it’ll be the story of Captain America trying to make new friends and wondering how the heck he got here. The end.Chris Evans helping clean up even though he doesn’t have to because he’s the lead fucking actor
He truly is captain america, isn’t he?

‘You haven’t been here in years, Jayne. You really need that get up? No-one’s going to remember you.’
‘I think it’s possible they might.’

Simon Tam, what is your face?

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don’t care, I’m still free
You can’t take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain’t comin’ back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can’t take the sky from me
There’s no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can’t take the sky from me…

The Night Billy Buddy Died: Dr. Horrible’s Tragicomic Inversion of Spider-Man
Beyond their origins, finding the single most iconic moment in the lifetime of a superhero is a task even seasoned comic book scholars would find daunting. For instance, Batman has the death of Jason Todd, his defeat at the hands of Bane, his victory over Simon Hurt and many more to choose from. Superman’s death and return, his All-Star adventure, his initial confrontation with General Zod and his final pre-Crisis tale are all contenders. Captain America’s recovery by the Avengers, his assassination by Crossbones and the Red Skull, his failure to prevent a Nixon-like president from committing suicide, and several others are all probable candidates for that slot.
But when it comes to Spider-Man… well, that’s a whole different, much easier story.

Still the coolest, creepiest villains to ever exist.
