Travel tips?
Hey, friends. Does anyone recommend a certain airline and/or website to book flights? I’m thinking about heading to San Fransisco in March for the AMS Conference. I want to find a flight that is lovely, cheap, and safe. As safe as being propelled through the air in a piece of metal can be.
Any suggestions? Any Tumblr Montessorians thinking about going?

President Obama just took two major steps to make life easier for people with student loans, and there’s a good chance you or someone you know will benefit from them really soon. After you’ve watched, tweet/re-blog/Facebook it to get out the good word.
I sincerely hope that I’ll be able to benefit from this. Those students loans hurt.

Dear Tumblr…
Today my teaching contract was renewed. This means that come next September, I will have a job. If you’re a teacher, especially one working in New York City (though I’m not technically in the NYC public school system), you know what a big deal this is. I feel incredibly fortunate and I’m so excited at the possibility of having a few of my current students next year. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but it might, and that’s enough for me. Teaching is awesome.
I also received some great feedback from an article that I finished. It’s still in its editing stages, but it’s always nice to know that my work is appreciated. With regard to writing, I know that I need to do more of it. Especially for Examiner (a kick butt writing gig that I have thoroughly ignored).
Questions for you writers out there: How do you do it? How do you balance other jobs and writing and a social life? I need your advice! I’ve already received a really great suggestion on another site, but I’d like some more.
To celebrate my contract and my renewed motivation to write, I’m attaching pictures of cinnamon sticks. Why? Because I made a delicious breakfast this morning and I needed cinnamon, but I could only find cinnamon sticks. And when I find pretty things like cinnamon sticks, I tend to drop everything and take a billion photos (see: pasta bondage).
