I was so tired when I arrived home from work, but I’m very glad I decided to go back into the city to this event. I really enjoyed myself and I loved hearing all of his thoughts on life, theater, and his career.
I took notes, as one does, and there are so many things to write about. One of my favorite moments is when he started talking about poetry (poetry and short stories are his preferred literary forms) and he said that poetry has to be “musical, clever, and precise” and that “the construction is like solving a puzzle.” I thought that was beautiful.
The final quote of the night: “That’s what’s good about the future—it’s coming.”
