Dreams from My Father by Barack Obama.

quicksummary:

A heartwarming tale about how even if you’ve got a Christian Kenyan father, an atheistic white American mother, an Indonesian Muslim stepfather, a biracial half sister and you’ve had  to fight for literally everything you’ve ever gotten in your life, a whole bunch of folks are going to call you a Muslim terrorist Nazi socialist elitist who “only won because he’s black”.

I hope Barack Obama finds this blog and it makes his day.

We can’t speak for the man himself, but it made ours.

That’s right GOP, keep demeaning the women and we will release the Clinton!

(via rcmclachlan)

The attempt by Republican men to wrestle American women back into chastity belts has not only breathed life into President Obama, it has roused and riled Hillary. And that could turn out to be the most dangerous thing the wildly self-destructive G.O.P. leaders have done.

You’re welcome.

I just finished watching the American Experience special on Clinton, and I am full of a lot feelings right now, so this is what I am going to watch for the next few minutes.

Thou shall not have inappropriate feelings for the president.

President Obama’s statement on the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade (via theamericanprospect)

(via thisworldtillmidnight)

As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right. While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption. And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.
